Join us for an evening of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and a free screening of the family movie Inside Out at the Djeran Fest, held at Centennial Pioneer Park on Friday 15 April from 5pm to 9.30pm.
Named after one of the six seasons, Djeran Fest will be a community celebration featuring cultural performances, displays of traditional skills and an opportunity to find out more about local services with a health and wellbeing focus.
A highlight of the evening will be a special performance by popular Aboriginal Motown duo, The Merindas, followed by a screening of Disney Pixar’s Inside Out at 7.30pm.
Activities include art and craft workshops, community stalls, giant games, roving entertainment, a youth skate zone and much more. Langford Aboriginal Association’s Art and Yarning group will be exhibiting artworks, jewellery and crafts available to purchase on the night.
The evening starts at 5pm with a free sausage sizzle for the first 300 visitors. Be sure to arrive early to secure a good spot, bring a picnic if you prefer and enjoy a free night out with the family.
This is a partnership event between the City of Gosnells, Langford Aboriginal Association, RUAH Community Services and the Aboriginal community with funding from the Department of Social Services.
Djeran Fest is an alcohol and smoke free event.
